1) What is a mountain flight?

•    It’s basically an experience where you wake up real early in the morning, and go pay an aerial respect to the Himalayas from a tiny plane.

2) What will I see?

•   All the peaks you’ve heard about, such as: Everest (8,850m), Lhotse (8,516m), Nuptse (7,855m), Ama Dablam (6,815m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Langtang (7,234m) and Gauri-Shankar (7,181m), all at eye level. You can also see the ancient trade routes now worn by trekkers and porters, high altitude lakes, and colossal glaciers crawling.

3) When can I fly?

•   You can fly year-round but those who have come before you say the best views are to be had during the clear(er) periods of February- May and September-December.

All flights are scheduled for take-off between 6:00 am – 8:00 am, so you can see the mountains as the sun rays hit them, making us want to use the word “resplendent".

4) Which airlines take me there?

•   The four major airlines: Buddha Air, Agni Air, Guna Airlines, and Yeti Air all operate mountain flights. All aircraft making the flights are smaller 14-30 seater aircraft. We will book you only on aircraft with all window seats. If details such as the make and model of your aircraft are important to you, check out the airlines websites

5) Where do I start this journey from?

•   Take-off is from Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu

6) If I have a 6 am flight, what time do I have to arrive at the airport? And how do I get there so early?

•   We recommend you arrive at the airport an hour early. It should be a short cab ride, especially in the early morning when the traffic has yet to hit the streets. When you book through us, we will take you to the airport and charge a fee  to keep our drivers and equipment

7) How long is the flight?

•   The flight is a little over an hour long. Which is perfect for the busy traveler.

8) Will I get a window seat?

•   YES. Nearly all airlines provide passengers with their own window seat. We will only book you on aircraft with no aisle seats. Like you, we know a mountain flight is not for staring at the viewfinder of someone else’s camera, thinking to yourself how you would have done a better job on that shot. If the mountains are not on your side going there, fight the urge to squeeze your camera into the face of the passenger across the aisle from you; you will get your turn to see them coming back

9) What altitude do we climb to?

•   The maximum altitude traveled at is around 25,000 ft, keeping the Himalayas at eye-level, so you and your camera can both be happy

10) How will I know what I am looking at?

•   The crew onboard each flight will be on hand to point out and name the peaks as you pass by, so you will know the names of everything you are seeing, even though you might not be able to pronounce them

11) How about the weather?

•   As you might have guessed, that part is unpredictable. Time periods of February- May and September-December see fewer weather-related cancellations. If your flight gets cancelled because of inclement weather, fight the urge to be indignant. You will be booked on the next available day’s flight

12) Will I get a refund if I can’t make it the next day?

•   Yes you will. Please ask the flight attendant to endorse your ticket for the refund and we will start the procedure immediately. Refunds may take a week, and we will work with you to ensure that you get the refund. In the case of a refund, we will take a 35 pc service fee, a small amount for our time effort to bring the experience to you.

13) You sound like a travel agency. Can’t I just book directly through the airlines and pay lower?

•   Yes, we are a travel agent and our ticket prices are exactly the same as you would get if you booked with the airline – but then you have to fax your credit card details or go to the airline office and stand in line.

•   Additionally, we offer airport pickup guaranteed to get your there on time, and hassle-free refunds in case your flight has to be cancelled. Since you read so far, why not book here

14) What are the cancellation policy?

•    If the flight gets cancelled by the airline because of weather or other reasons: Flight is guaranteed and we will reschedule you on the next possible flight according to your schedule, but you have to pay for the airport transfer again.

•   If you cancel the confirmed booking 24 hours before the flight:  We will take a 35 pc service fee, which is a penalty to the airline and a small amount for our time and effort to bring the experience to you.

•   Cancellations within 24 hours of flight, same day cancellation or NO SHOW: NON REFUNDABLE

•   Normal Clothes
